Asphalt & Blacktop Installation
A professionally paved driveway is an investment that adds value to your property and provides a pleasing focal point for visitors to your home.
If neglected, an old driveway forms pot holes and cracks that result from cold temperatures and high usage. Even worse, a neglected driveway can also result in sink holes, which can be initially caused by a poorly constructed foundation.
Always Affordable Chimney of Long Island provides asphalt & blacktop installation. As one of our several masonry services, our experts pride themselves on the beauty of their asphalt & blacktop installations.
Asphalt, also known as blacktop, is a mix of stones and sand with liquid asphalt cement. The material is heated, mixed and liquefied at approximately 300°F. It is then paved on top of a base or subgrade that has already been prepared.
Benefits of asphalt & blacktop installation:
- Less expensive and easier to replace than concrete
- Resistant to extreme weather
- Salt and ice melt does not damage asphalt
- Material can be recycled and re-used
- Water runoff is generally cleaner than with concrete
